IPL 2025 Playoff Race: Who’s Leading the Points Table and Which Teams Still Have a Chance?

Top of the Table: Gujarat Titans Lead the Pack

At present, Gujarat Titans (GT) are sitting comfortably at the top of the points table. With 8 wins and 3 losses from 11 matches, and a strong net run rate of 0.793, they have accumulated 16 points.

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) are tied with GT in terms of points, having also played 11 matches and secured 8 wins. However, with a lower net run rate of 0.482, RCB holds the second spot. Both teams are almost certain to qualify for the playoffs, needing just one more win each from their remaining three matches.

Playoff Contenders: Punjab Kings, Mumbai Indians & Others

Punjab Kings (PBKS)

Currently placed third, Punjab Kings have 15 points and a favorable net run rate. Under the leadership of Shreyas Iyer, if they win two more matches, their spot in the playoffs will likely be secured.

Mumbai Indians (MI)

MI is placed fourth on the table with 14 points from 12 matches (7 wins). Riding on momentum from recent victories, MI needs to win both of their remaining matches to secure a direct entry into the playoffs.

Still in the Race: KKR, LSG & Delhi Capitals

Out of the Race: SRH, RR & CSK

Unfortunately, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), Rajasthan Royals (RR), and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are no longer in contention for the playoffs this season. Despite some close encounters, inconsistent performances have pushed them out of the race.
